About Me
My name is Wesley Carney, I am a theatrical Technical Director and Scenic Designer. I'm the full-time Technical Director at the Westport Country Playhouse in Westport, CT. I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Design and Technology with a Concentration in Technical Direction from Kent State University (class of 2026). I also hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati (class of 2018). I have extensive experience with Technical Direction and Scenic Design of various theatrical productions including musicals, comedies, dramas, interactive walkthroughs, and special events. I have led scene shops of various sizes and provided training to numerous carpenters and technicians. I also have experience with painting, props, lighting, sound, projections, and stage management. I am always looking for ways to develop my skills and expand my horizons.
